If you've jonied myLot, then you already know that along the top of the page, directly after logging in, there is a navigation bar. I usually log in, make sure 'discussions' is selected, then I have a look right away for what discussions are going on.
Along the left side-bar, right under your member picture/profile pic, you can select further ways to look at the threads at myLot.
Now, here's the thing...
Whichever way you choose for browsing topics, engage your brain when you decide to make a response in a thread that is already started.
Simple browsing will show you that a TON of members are kickin' forth RIDICULOUS topics and responding in even more ridiculous ways.
Don't be caught doing that - it WILL NOT help your reputations OR your earnings on myLot.
Respond thoughtfully, respectfully, and remember...
People who will later read what you wrote are REAL PEOPLE - NOT just member names, member numbers, stats.
If I read one more response like:
"Good topic - hey check out my blog [..blog address . com]"
or
"I totally agree with your post, here's an article I wrote along the same lines [...article addy]"
In particular, if you are responding to something on myLot that is a decidedly emotional topic like an abuse issues thread, religion opinions and what-not - BE CONSIDERATE!
Yes, in most 'civilized' countries and areas of the world we have 'freedome of speech.' Don't ABUSE that and turn 'freedom of speech' into something that backfires and REQUIRES CENSORSHIP!
Just because you CAN say something, doesn't mean you always SHOULD SAY something or that you should just blurt it out any which way.
I am writing this immediately following my own recent 'time spent' logged into myLot and I had to finally log OUT because I didn't have the patience this evening to browse past all the blatant self-promotion, the 'freely said' comments or the multiple-same topic threads.
"Do You Like Valentine's Day" and "What did you do for Valentine's Day" topic headers on Valentine's Day aren't really very original.
You will earn more, gain a better reputation and acquire loyal readers if you learn to become 'mindful' when you are posting at myLot.
