If you've jonied myLot, then you already know that along the top of the page, directly after logging in, there is a navigation bar. I usually log in, make sure 'discussions' is selected, then I have a look right away for what discussions are going on.
Along the left side-bar, right under your member picture/profile pic, you can select further ways to look at the threads at myLot.
Now, here's the thing...
Whichever way you choose for browsing topics, engage your brain when you decide to make a response in a thread that is already started.
Simple browsing will show you that a TON of members are kickin' forth RIDICULOUS topics and responding in even more ridiculous ways.
Don't be caught doing that - it WILL NOT help your reputations OR your earnings on myLot.
Respond thoughtfully, respectfully, and remember...
People who will later read what you wrote are REAL PEOPLE - NOT just member names, member numbers, stats.
If I read one more response like:
"Good topic - hey check out my blog [..blog address . com]"
or
"I totally agree with your post, here's an article I wrote along the same lines [...article addy]"
In particular, if you are responding to something on myLot that is a decidedly emotional topic like an abuse issues thread, religion opinions and what-not - BE CONSIDERATE!
Yes, in most 'civilized' countries and areas of the world we have 'freedome of speech.' Don't ABUSE that and turn 'freedom of speech' into something that backfires and REQUIRES CENSORSHIP!
Just because you CAN say something, doesn't mean you always SHOULD SAY something or that you should just blurt it out any which way.
I am writing this immediately following my own recent 'time spent' logged into myLot and I had to finally log OUT because I didn't have the patience this evening to browse past all the blatant self-promotion, the 'freely said' comments or the multiple-same topic threads.
"Do You Like Valentine's Day" and "What did you do for Valentine's Day" topic headers on Valentine's Day aren't really very original.
You will earn more, gain a better reputation and acquire loyal readers if you learn to become 'mindful' when you are posting at myLot.

Another Great Social Site

If you haven't visited and joined Yuwie yet, you're missing out on earning while you interact at a great Social Site!
You don't necessarily have to have anything specific in mind to earn at Yuwie.
That means - if you're still in a warp of confusion, trying to figure out what field you'd like to start up in where online money-making is concerned - then YUWIE IS PERFECT FOR YOU!
You get paid for joining 'clubs,' for viewing other member pages, for commenting when you like someone's page and layout, for commenting on their blog information and posts. You earn for blogging at Yuwie, for posting notice to other interesting Yuwie material that you find at the site.
Really - you don't have to be in any internet money-making field at all in order to start earning right away from Yuwie!

In fact, earn by doing exactly WHAT YOU LOVE TO DO! Just write about your interests and hobbies.
Here are a few examples:
* Start a blog in your Yuwie area and just keep adding to it. It can be about almost anything (anything legal and appropriate - no cussing, drugs, etc - common sense), such as your favorite books. Just review your books - rate how you like certain authors or something. In this, you'll be writing about a kind of 'hobby' you have, an interest in reading, books, or maybe a particular writing style or author.
* If you're an avid cook at home and you have some favorite recipes that you'd like to tell about. Go ahead and blog about those! Chances are, if you love certain foods, Yuwie members will track down your recipes and will enjoy them as well. Again, if you do this - offer your favorite recipes via your Yuwie blog - you'll be doing something enjoyable that keeps your interest and is helpful, at the same time, to other people.
* Start a 'club' at Yuwie! If you're a sports fan and have a favorite sports team. Why not start a group at Yuwie for other fans? After games, other people who like the same team can come and visit you and chat about the game in your club area!
* Here's something that I did at Yuwie:
I love the NBC TV show, "Heroes," so I simply started a club there, called,
Discuss Heroes
(opens in new window)
It's a plain and simple name, but nobody will mistake it for a sports team fan area or a 'how to' group or anything.
It was really easy, too. In fact, I just started the Discuss Heroes club earlier this morning! Just in time before the Season Two premiere this Monday.
I already had someone join before I even logged back out of Yuwie!
These are some really easy, simple ways to earn money online through one of the newest Social Sites online. Combine your sites, leading friends from one to the other, and you'll be able to earn online through several sites at once.
Better yet, make sure you get into each social site that you become a member of - read the TOS carefully - and then HELP YOUR FRIENDS to replicate what you're doing! Help your myLot buddies by telling them about how to combine sites and make posts that bring viewers to 'friend' pages, too.
It's not all about YOU, actually, when you're trying to earn through social sites. It's about INTERACTING with everyone - in a good way.
* Help your friends to receive decent viewers.
* Make yourself available for answering questions.
* Direct your friends to the sites that are really beneficial.
* Communicate (don't just spit out your referral links toward the people who are friends)
* Post interesting topics at both myLot and Yuwie - in fact, at any site you're a member of!
* Start groups so that people have additional ways to contact you - AND - additional 'context' by which to communicate with you.
-- If you only show your profile, you're doing 'friends' on your list a DISFAVOUR! You're not letting them really interact with you. Instead, what you're really doing is hoping to scoop some money from your friends by ONLY showing them a profile page that you did almost NO work on at all...
"Money For Nothing" is just an old 80's Dire Straits tune, eh? It's not a good strategy for earning with Social Sites at all.
Don't fall into the above "If you only..." scenario...
Social sites are for Social interaction....it's not 'pushy' to start groups and invite friends to be part of your group...instead - it is giving friends an additional opportunity to interact with you and earn money themselves.
If you haven't joined Yuwie yet, you'll have to go through a simple process that only takes about 90 seconds - plus - it's FREE - and after that, you'll start earning from the time of your very first log-in!

The Simpsons Movie Competition Until July 27th

I'm entering The Simpsons Movie Competition that Fox TV and Opera (yes, the browser community) are running right now.
More Competition Details - The Simpsons Movie
(opens in new window)
I just found out about The Simpsons Movie Contest a few hours ago and the first place I went to to ask if people were aware of the contest - was myLot.
The Simpsons Movie Contest will run up until the 27th of July - the date that The Simpsons Movie is set to premier! A Random winner will be announced on July 27, so I hope that someone I know will enter the contest and WIN THE CONTEST!
Like I said already, I'm going to enter the contest, too (after I finish posting to let others know about the contest), and there's only 1 week left until we'll know who actually won the competition.

Make myLot Money By Setting Goals

Most things, earning money included, never get accomplished without some dedicated goal setting involved. Making money at myLot will be no different. It really will help if you sit down for a few minutes (you've joined already, right?) and think about some realistic goals.
Put the money thoughts aside for just a few minutes.
In the last post, I mentioned that to make money on myLot, it's a good idea to post regularly. This is true and, additionally, you should decide how much time, reasonably, you can spend at the myLot site. It may be a half hour per day - and maybe you'll only get 1 post out there or 1 response to someone else's post - that's okay.
That would be 7 - 14 posts per week. Heck - I didn't realize the benefits of all of this when I first signed up at myLot 6 months ago. I sure didn't post that many posts per week. In fact, I think I nearly had my account terminated from disuse because I had a pretty bad attitude when I first started posting at myLot. I posted a few times, then took off for a couple of weeks, logged back in expecting trickles of coinage to be racking up in my members area...
NADA...
Then I got kind of ticked off after a few more stops'n'starts, and I didn't bother with the site for several weeks...then a while longer yet...
Meanwhile, some friends of mine who HAD BEEN posting regularly while I was off elsewhere, reported to me that they'd been watching their earnings rise! Some had received a few payouts to their payment processor already and they kind of wanted to ring my neck for being a butthead.
I asked them how it happened that they got paid and I didn't - heck - I wrote some long posts that I thought were well-thought out and everything, while some of my friends wrote what I called 'little snippets' at the time.
Needless to say, once things were explained to me better, I stopped being a butthead!
The 'little snippets' gained my friends credibility with their myLot circle of discussion friends, while my absence got me nothing. My friends were invited into discussions all the time, which meant that it was easier and easier for them to post. They were just 'responding' quite naturally and quite socially everytime they logged in to check their members' areas - while I, in the beginning, was logging in tryin' to figure out some outstanding post to make and, consequently, not coming up with anything in my head that seemed worth writing about.
My friends said that they set really simple goals at myLot. The goals were to simply log in to the myLot site every day or at least every second day - even if they only had about 20 minutes or a half hour to spend at the site.
Do yourself a favour - just 'RESPOND' over at myLot. Make sure you add someone to your friends list - say, at least one, everytime you log in to your account. That's not a huge task - just find someone whose posts you've enjoyed and check their profile. Find the appropriate button and add them. Then, if they leave a message for you sometime when you're not logged in, you might not even have to think hard about what topic to post on when you log in again. Maybe you'll just check out a thread that your 'myLot friend' told you about in his/her message.
Set some goals - even small ones - and you'll get a lot better results at myLot than I did when I first joined! If you've just started at myLot recently, I'm sure you'll be making money in a lot larger sums than I did and - sooner than I did. Your first month will be better than 3 or 4 months of my 'beginning' months at myLot, that's for sure!

Make Money on myLot By Adding To Discussions

Take a look around myLot right away and see what other people are discussing. Then, it's simple, just jump into the discussion. Don't try to blatantly hi-jack someone else's discussion topic or try to re-direct others away from the topic, just comment, answer questions that have been asked, offer your opinion. If your opinion differs from some viewpoints, that's fine. Probably a lot of myLot members don't agree - in the same way that you aren't in agreement with a certain viewpoint. Some people will want to read about what you think, even if it's different. Maybe seeing YOU POST something will make them feel like they can freely discuss something that they previously weren't going to discuss!
It's not just all about your posts. You are rewarded for participating in already-started discussions, too. Comment on anything that you feel strongly about. Get involved!
There are some interesting groups on myLot. Business groups, charity threads, fitness posts, self-help information, parenting tips, even some out-right 'RANT' threads that are actually pretty interesting.
Perhaps you'll get to chatting with someone you really enjoy sharing ideas with.
Make Money on myLot by Posting Regularly

You can't make money if you don't visit the myLot site!
One thing about the myLot site is - they only pay if you are participating in discussions. This is totally reasonable, considering that they have been growing at a great pace. Out there, somewhere, are a lot of people who will try to scam myLot out of money by showing up every once in a while, posting a ton of messages - then not showing up 'til they are ready to ask for money.
Making money at myLot isn't like posting at certain money-making forums where you get a ton of referral cash but don't necessarily have to contribute a lot in the forum. There are some referral incentives at myLot, sure, but the major point of earning through myLot is through the discussions. Through participation.
Even if you don't have the greatest little 'article' or 'special report' or even any little, slightly brain-stormed idea that you think you should post at myLot, log in regularly, anyway. You'll be surprised at how simply reading a few threads while you're checking to see if you have new messages will spark some ideas, creativity - even argument, if that happens to surface.
You're allowed to have a reasonable argument at myLot, too - don't think that all your 'discussions' have to be 'pansy-dansy' cute and nice all the time. There are healthy ways to say things, healthy ways to express "I don't agree...in my experience, I have learned that..." or "That idea doesn't sit right with me...instead, what about this idea....?"
You may even learn to express yourself better with a cross-cut viewpoint versus something that someone else has posted in the myLot threads. Here's your chance to agree to disagree or share all sorts of points of view.
